White boards are ubiquitous at Avadhi.
This is because Avadhi employees tend to be systems-types: We are continually developing new market trading systems, soft- and hardware systems, engineering systems, mathematical and statistical systems . . .
The white boards provide the visual space we need to think and problem solve, diagram our thinking and show colleagues to get feedback. This approach has paid off as Avadhi has been able to bring a suite of sophisticated trading platforms from concept to design to execution in a short period. Our quasi-academic atmosphere supports productive individual and teamwork. On most Thursdays a staffer makes a presentation on an aspect of his or her work. This presentation follows a weekly group lunch.
CEO and founder, Paresh Malde, a Ph.D., in math and physics, sets the tone in the office that is at once casual yet intense, creative and hardworking. Innovation is highly prized among employees. But so too is bringing “ah-hah” ideas quickly to the marketplace.
